When EVA material is used for injection molding, there are two factors should be noted:
  1. MOLD DESIGN:
The mold should have excellent gas-venting performance. When producing small parts, it is syggested to use venting hole. 6.35x0.00762 mm or 3.75x0.254 mm(1/8”x0.001” or 1/4”x0.0003”).
When mold is clamping, air should directly exhaust into the environment. Venting hole should be located at the end of runner.
  2. SCREW EDSIGN:
Shallow thread. The commonly used screw with compression ratio 2:1~3:1 and 60° helix angle is suitable for using TPR for injection molding.
PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSES CORRECTION
CONCAVE Too high temperature on mold or melt.
Too low retaining pressure
‧Reduce temperature on nozzle and barrel.
‧Reduce temperature of melt
‧Reduce screw speed.
‧Increase retaining pressure.

MARKING
Too low temperature on mold or melt.
Mold design
‧In crease temperature on nozzle and barrel.
‧Increase temperature of melt
‧Increase injection temperature
‧Increase screw speed and back pressure.
‧Increase mold temperature
‧Increase runner size
‧Increase shooting nozzle
‧Change shooting position.
